The first Undy 5000, created by the Colon Cancer Allianace (CCA), held in Tampa, Fla., took its mark in Al Lopez Park on February 9.
More than 425 racers participated, rasing $50,000 locally, to help get out the word about the need for colonoscopies and screenings in order to win the fight against colon cancer.
Tampa Bay Endoscopy Center and StopColonCancerNow.com sponsored a booth at the race with more than 30 supporters attending, making it one of the largest groups to participate. The team interacted with more than 60 race participants raising awareness and encouraging them to sign up for a screening and newsletter.
