The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) held their ASCRS & ASOA Annual Meeting in New Orleans on May 6-10. AMSURG partner Kerry Solomon, M.D, Physicians’ Eye Surgery Center of Charleston, S.C., opened the session as the incoming ASCRS President.
AMSURG hosted a reception for its ophthalmology partners on Saturday, May 7, at Calcasieu in New Orleans.
“We always welcome the opportunity to connect with surgeons from across the country,” said Sandy Smith, associate vice president of marketing.
During the meeting, Smith and Paige Proffitt, regional vice president of operations, led a training session called “The Future is Now: Strategic Planning for your ASC.” AMSURG also sponsored the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society (OOSS) event which focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and quality.
“We bring our ophthalmology team to ASCRS every year,” said John Grant, division president of operations for ophthalmology. “It is energizing to reconnect with our partners, our vendors and the latest technology.”
