AMSURG Division Vice President Operations Dave Killean helped raise more than $8,000 for the Make-A-Wish foundation to help grant a wish for a child in Middle Tennessee with a life-threatening medical condition.

Killean teamed up with a former Make-A-Wish recipient, 13-year-old Miles, who has been fighting leukemia since his diagnosis at the age of nine, to “pay it forward” by raising funds in advance of Killean’s participation in the upcoming Chattanooga Ironman triathlon. An avid basketball fan, Miles had his wish to meet Kobe Bryant granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Los Angeles in 2013.

The 140.6 mile race starts at 7:40 a.m. EST on Sunday, September 28 and Killean’s race number is # 2009. Track his progress at: http://www.ironman.com/#axzz3EHB4gHby by clicking on Live Race Coverage for Ironman Chattanooga, which should include live video of the finish line.
