AMSURG held the annual Center Leadership Conference in Phoenix from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. Nearly 220 center leaders, along with 142 AMSURG colleagues, attended the conference held at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Phoenix.
AMSURG’s President of Ambulatory Services Phillip Clendenin kicked off the conference by celebrating the amazing work the center leaders do every day.
“It is great to see the passion and compassion in the room, because that’s what it’s all about,” Clendenin said.
Center Leaders attended breakout sessions on topics such as medical staff credentialing, accreditation success, scope reprocessing and CMS quality measures. The conference keynote speakers included Rick Van Pelt, M.D., Marcia R. Patrick, M.S.N., R.N., C.I.C., and Steven Sheinman, M.D., who presented on topics including anesthesia and infection control.
“We build together with AMSURG by getting vital information every day, by getting the support that we need with issues that come up,” said Eileen Beltramba, R.N., center leader of the Eye Surgery and Laser Center in Winter Haven, Fla. “We have resources available to us that a smaller center might not have. We have someone whom we can call for a myriad of questions or concerns.”
