Desi explained that the effect tight-fitting clothes, such as skinny jeans or a bodyshaper, formerly known as a girdle, has on our health is purely mechanical. Tight-fitting clothes increase the pressure on the stomach, which can increase the chance that acid reflux, or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), will occur.
