President of AMSURG
Jeff Snodgrass joined as President of AMSURG in 2020. In this role, he leads one of the nation’s largest ambulatory surgery center operations in the delivery of essential, high-quality care to patients. Snodgrass previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Azura Vascular Care (formerly Fresenius Vascular Care) and National Cardiology Partners, where he led the company’s vascular and cardiology outpatient, interventional and surgical business units. Under his leadership, Azura Vascular Care experienced unprecedented growth and transformed from an office-based outpatient business to an ambulatory surgical care company. Snodgrass also served as the Chief Financial Officer at inVentiv Health and spent more than 17 years at Merck & Co. in a number of leadership positions in finance and marketing, including Vice President of Finance. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Penn State University.
Quality and Clinical Services
Nina Goins joined AMSURG in 2019 as Vice President of Quality and Clinical Services. Goins has more than 30 years of healthcare leadership, quality and safety experience. Before joining AMSURG, she served as Vice President of Quality and Performance Improvement with Ardent Health Services, where she helped to establish the Quality Department and improve quality metrics across the organization. This included developing a Patient Safety Organization listed with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Goins has worked with a range of healthcare organizations in Middle Tennessee, including St. Thomas Health Services, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and Sound Physicians (previously Cogent Healthcare). Goins earned her nursing degree from St. Mary’s Nursing School and University of Tennessee and a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University.
John Grant serves as AMSURG Division President for Multispecialty and Ophthalmology Services. Before joining AMSURG in 2004, Grant held executive positions with several healthcare corporations in the Southeast, including LifeTrust America, Arcon Healthcare and HCA, Inc. Grant has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Georgia and a Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration from Georgia State University.
Chief Financial Officer
Sarah Belmont joined AMSURG in 2021 as Chief Financial Officer. Belmont has over two decades of broad experience in corporate finance, primarily in senior living and healthcare real estate. Before joining AMSURG, Belmont served as Senior Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis for Brookdale Senior Living and led a team of professionals in the Advanced Analytics and Financial Planning & Analysis departments. At Brookdale, Belmont additionally held the title of Vice President of Operations, as well as Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for the company’s East Division. Belmont has also served as Vice President and Senior Healthcare Relationship Manager for KeyBank. Belmont earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, also from the University of Pennsylvania.
Tesha Simpson, DNP, NP-C, joined AMSURG in 2021 as GI Division President. Simpson has over 15 years of healthcare industry leadership experience. Before joining AMSURG, Simpson held leadership positions with several healthcare corporations, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer for Optum Florida, where she oversaw primary care operations across 11 counties in Florida. Before that, she worked for BayCare Medical Group, directing strategic planning activities for more than 400 multispecialty provider practices within a health system composed of 14 hospitals. Simpson has also worked for nearly two decades as a nurse practitioner in the Tampa Bay, Florida, area. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida as well as a Master of Science and a Doctorate from the University of Florida School of Nursing.
Sandy Clingan Smith joined AMSURG in 2012 and serves as Vice President of Marketing for AMSURG’s ambulatory services division. Smith has more than 30 years of experience in marketing, strategy and brand management. Prior to joining AMSURG, she served as Senior Vice President for Captain D’s, Vice President of Marketing for Doctors Vision Center and Brand Manager for Quaker Oats and Frito Lay. She earned a Bachelor’s in Economics from Duke University and a Master’s in Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
