The Materials Management department hosted the 2nd Annual Supply Chain Conference, in conjunction with the HealthTrust Purchasing Group (HPG) Convention, with more than 46 AMSURG center participants. Supply Chain Conference – held at AMSURG The Supply Chain Conference provides an opportunity for Materials Managers and Center Leaders across all Divisions (multispecialty, gastroenterology and ophthalmology) to meet with key AMSURG contacts. The overall focus this year was on cost and inventory management. During the afternoon, attendees spent time in divisional breakout sessions, which allowed them to interact with their peers and discuss topics that were important to them.
Attendees were asked to give their feedback on the conference’s topics, presentations and overall impact. On a scale of one to five (with five being the highest), the group gave the event a 4.8. They indicated the breakout sessions that allowed them to share ideas and challenges they face were the most beneficial. HealthTrust Purchasing Group (HPG) Conference The last day and a half consisted of attending the HPG Convention at Gaylord Opryland Hotel, which offers a wide array of educational sessions. More than 300 vendors participated in the HPG Vendor Fair, giving the attendees the opportunity to meet the representatives of the companies from whom they order products, equipment and services.
The 2015 conference will be held Monday-Wednesday, Aug. 17-19.
