Jade Sampson, Manager, Training & Development for AMSURG, just began the second year of her three-year term on the Board of Directors for Young Leaders Council (YLC), in Nashville, Tenn. Jade completed the YLC training program in 2012. She then became a Board of Directors intern for the YWCA from July 2012 to July 2013. She continued to serve on the Jr. Board of Directors for the YWCA through July 2014.
“I’m deeply passionate about developing young professionals and serving nonprofits in our community, so the mission of [YLC] resonated with me from the beginning,” Sampson said. “I wanted to serve on the board so I could contribute to the organization in a way that I hope will make an impact. It is an honor to serve YLC, and I am excited to continue learning from the experience gained during my term and all of the people I meet along the way.”
Young Leaders Council is a program that trains “diverse, committed individuals to effectively participate on the boards of nonprofit organizations and make a difference in the community by replenishing the volunteer leadership base.” YLC is the only board developer in Tennessee that trains people between the ages of 25 and 40 to be effective board members specifically for nonprofits.
