As of February 2017, AMSURG has amassed more than 1 million records in the GI Quality Improvement Consortium, Ltd. (GIQuIC) quality registry. Data from AMSURG-affiliated centers now represents nearly 23 percent of the total colonoscopy records.
“Reaching this milestone is testimony to the commitment that our physician partners and AMSURG have made to advancing the quality of care provided to our patients. In addition, we are building a data source that can be used for broader purposes in advancing the health of the population,” said Kathy Wilson, vice president of quality.
Eric Thrailkill, chief information officer of AMSURG, said, “This combination of data analytics and aligned quality objectives will position AMSURG and affiliated gastroenterology partners for true value-based opportunities.”
