AMSURG held its annual Center Leadership Conference in Atlanta on Oct. 2-4 at the Omni CNN Center. More than 200 center leaders were in attendance along with 140 AMSURG corporate employees. This conference gave ambulatory surgery center (ASC) administrators a chance to come together and discuss important issues facing ASCs today.
On the first day of the conference, center leaders were able to participate in roundtable discussions with corporate employees to discuss specific topics such as accreditation programs, compliance, risk management programs and quality measures. Wednesday concluded the day with the “Connections Cafe” where center leaders could meet with vendors, AMSURG employees and other center leaders.
Thursday and Friday featured general sessions where presenters discussed key topics facing ASC such as anesthesia, infection control and compliance. Center leaders also had a chance to attend specialty-specific breakout sessions on Thursday for gastroenterology centers, opthamology centers and multispecialty/orthopedic centers.
This was the 16th Center Leadership Conference AMSURG has held. Next year’s conference will be held in Nashville, Tenn., on Oct. 1-3, 2014.
