AMSURG Launches National Vision Survey for Cataract Awareness Month

August is Cataract Awareness Month, and in an attempt to better understand how cataracts affect people’s daily life, AMSURG’s has launched their National Vision Survey. All month long, they will be inviting individuals aged 60 and over to participate and will be gathering information on vision issues. In return, participants will receive a free Better Vision Kit with information on cataracts to help them learn more about protecting their vision.

“More than half of individuals over the age of 70 suffer from cataracts, but they are incredibly treatable,” said Jeffrey Taylor, M.D., the new medical director of “With results from this survey, we will be better able to educate the public on the importance of vision care and treatment, and in turn, better serve our patients.”

Those who wish to participate can access the survey, and fill it out online. The survey will be available until August 31.
