AMSURG Volunteers at Second Harvest

During a week of record-breaking heat in Nashville, eight AMSURG employees kept their cool while volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank after work on June 14.  Along with other community members, the AMSURG volunteers were put to work in the cooler sorting frozen food donations. The evening’s volunteers sorted 3,649 pounds of food, equating to 3,037 meals for the hungry of Middle Tennessee.

Since 2009, AMSURG has chosen to support the food bank with annual food drives and numerous volunteer events. Second Harvest’s mission is “to feed hungry people and solve hunger issues in Middle and West Tennessee.”
