During Cataract Awareness Month in June, AMSURG partnered with our eye centers to educate patients on cataracts. Highlights of our activities include:
We distributed cataract patient education brochures to each center.More than 1,000 people visited the YourSightMatters.com (YSM) Facebook page and were offered a chance to win a Kindle Fire. Many signed up for our e-mail eye health newsletter.As part of our ongoing efforts to promote cataract awareness, we added a comprehensive cataract Q&A to each center website on our proprietary WebAdvantage platform. WebAdvantage combines a customized website with digital marketing strategies, exclusively for AMSURG centers.We hosted our first-ever Twitter chat on YSM’s Twitter handle, @YourEyesMatter, featuring Jeff Taylor, M.D. of the Eye Surgery Center of Paducah, Ky. and Medical Director of AMSURG’s YourSightMatters.com. These promotional efforts reached more than 15,000 people and more than 1,600 people viewed one or more of the Twitter chat posts.
