Sun City Endoscopy Center of Sun City, Arizona, Phoenix Endoscopy of Phoenix, Arizona, and Abilene Eye Institute of Abilene, Texas, were named winners of the 2019 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award. The awards were presented as a part of the organization’s 2019 National Client and Executive Leadership Conference, held Nov.18-20 in Orlando.
The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes clients who score in the 95th percentile for patient experience, employee/physician engagement or clinical quality performance. This is the first Guardian of Excellence Award for Sun City Endoscopy Center and Abilene Eye Institute and the second for Phoenix Endoscopy, which won the award in 2017.
Press Ganey, a business partner to more than 26,000 organizations and leader in development and distribution of patient satisfaction surveys, holds national acclaim in the healthcare industry. This award recognizes Sun City Endoscopy Center, Phoenix Endoscopy, and Abilene Eye Institute for sustaining high-quality patient experience ratings for all of 2019 and ranking within the top five percent of Press Ganey’s eligible clientele.
“AMSURG commends the three centers for focusing on patient safety and experience. We are so proud our centers for sustaining their excellence throughout 2019,” Nina Goins, Vice President of Quality and Clinical Services, AMSURG, said. “They are not only improving the lives of patients at their facilities but setting a high standard of care for healthcare professionals across the country. They have created cultures that put the patient first — every patient, every time.”
The Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery CAHPS (OAS CAHPS) is a standardized, national survey that collects feedback from patients who receive outpatient care and measures service quality at each center. All participating centers receive regular reports that compare their individual performance with the Press Ganey national database of outpatient service providers.
According to the results of the 2019 OAS CAHPS, 99 percent of patient respondents at Sun City Endoscopy Center and Abilene Eye Institute and 98 percent of patient respondents at Phoenix Endoscopy rated their comfort with the highest possible score. In addition to winning the Guardian of Excellence Award, the nearly perfect scores in patient comfort speak volumes about the center care teams’ ability to reassure and build trust with every patient.
AMSURG is proud to recognize these centers and their employees for their ability to uphold and consistently deliver high-quality patient care.
